Location: Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs | Over the summer I picked up an aluminum prop at a flea market. The price was great. If only it fit my outboard. I took a shot and now I have this prop that does me no good. I know this about this prop.
1) It doesn't fit my 2006 E-tec 200hp.
2) Its three blade aluminum.
3)48 78120 A40 19P stamped on the side (19" pitch???), and
48-78120-19 L is stamped on the hub.
4) 15 splines in the hub.
5) 14" diameter
Can anyone help me identify who made it and which make/models this prop was meant for? Of course it will be for sale here and at the swap in chicago. But I want to know what I've got first.
Thanks,
Karl

That would be a Mercury Black Max propeller for motors around 150 hp.

Location: Wayzata, MN | Karl - I don't know that I would put an aluminum prop on a 200hp motor anyways. Yeah - I get that they are cheaper than stainless, but there is a reason they are cheaper - they don't grip as well, flex more, and ding much easier. Just my .02.... If I were looking for a new prop, I would ONLY look at stainless.
BTW - I have a 150 hp Yamaha.
Good luck! |
