Largest Shack attack soft plastic - violent pull and pause retreive Best lure - row trolling Old model Ernie bait bounced off the side of bars or bottom ( deadly) Have a wonderfull 2011 muskie season and when your in the Presque Isle area meet me at the "View" for a cocktail

Location: SE Wisconsin | Howie, do you change out the hooks on the Thunderbeasts? Glad to hear some input on that thing, I raised an eyebrow to it when it first came out, but this year I'll give it a try.

Posts: 389 Location: Presque Isle Wisconsin | Sam, I didn't change the hooks but I trimmed back the plastic some that form the Gills.I thought it covered the area of the front hook too much;missed two fish before I trimmed it back, didn't miss any after that. I should have added in the post above that my biggest fish of the year came on the Extra large Hardhead (all black) that Roger Watters made up for me. ABOLUTELY LOVE THAT LURE!! Towards the end of the warm water season I had a chewed up Thunderbeast and I used the tail (orange) on the Big black Hardhead ( tails are inter-changeable) and that combo was extremely productive also for the short time I was able to use it.

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | One of my top performing baits this year from over shallow weeds to deep water was a Hardhead. Do you have any pictures of the extra large Hardhead? I haven't been on the forum much lately, and haven't heard of the bigger size. Is Roger making more of these or was it just a special thing for you? curleytail

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | Thanks Roger! I think you can sign me up for one when you get them going. Never felt like the large was too small, but I wouldn't mind a bigger one either. Talk to you later! curleytail
