Just went out to the wood boiler, snow is just plain nasty deep and the winds are nuts. I guess I'll officially stick a fork in the Fall of 2010.

Going to need the below zero temps coming to get throguh the snow blanket and make ice. Slush is gong to be nasty.

Strap on some skis and hit some slopes. I can see you doing that.

We don't have any slopes around here. Mostly, when it comes to hills, I just roll down them. I avoid the 'uphill' part at all costs.

How are the ice conditions beneath all that snow?

Yes, I heard blizzard conditions in Wasau? And apparantly that storm is heading our way. We've been having rain for the last few hours, and it's just starting to turn into a frozen drizzle.

I would sit tomorrow in a heartbeat, the bucks will be in the field at dusk as the winds begin to drop off...gonna be a frigid one out there. Can't though, because of a doe only special hunt the weather (fortunately) probably zeroed, even though I'm in a buck only unit. I think Keith has dibbs on the North wind stand Monday night.

Ice is 6". Officially we have 11" of snow, with more on the way.

Put on some snowshoes. Take a short hike through the woods. Take a light 30/30 along in case you run into something. Come back, fix a scotch and soda. Crack open a good book. Or, start writing "Everything I Know About Muskie Fishing."

Today would have been a great day to be sitting in a tree stand. WHat a bummer I will have to wait until next weekend to be out in the woods hunting. We have another 4-6"coming on Wednesday!!!!!!!!!

Does Spring start right after archery season ends on Dec 31!!!!!!!! Would be nice!!!!

How do I know it's really cold outside? I let my dog out this am. She stopped right on stair and look at me with the funny look" it's collddddd!!!!" proceed to take pee and poop right in front of sidewalk and come back into house..... Hope the wind blow the snows off the lake. 5-7" of ice with 16" and up snow on top of it.

The good news is that Green River is just about at winter pool and they have cut the flow way back.

The bad news is the #*^@ collateral damage we are suffering from the recent midwestern blizzards, which make it an unsafe proposition to pull a boat a couple hours to drop it in and fish in these 20 degree temps we are havng the next couple days. Noting of course that the only 3 snowplows in KY, have been working up around Lex and Louisville.
