Any opinions on a good 3-bank charger. I got a Pro-mariner pro sport 20 from Cabela's this spring, and it didn't make it through the season. I took it back and got a new replacement, but I'm not sure I want to install it. I was thinking of exchanging it for the MK330, any thoughts? Thanks.

That's a good choice. All the boats we rigged at both the dealers I worked for all used Minn Kota and I never saw any issues with them. I know a lot of the walleye pros actually pull the stock charger that come in the Rangers and replace them with Minn Kota's. Solid units from my experience and from what I've seen and heard from others.

interesting the Pro Mariner didn't make it..I've had the same Pro Mariner Tournament 150 in my Ranger since 2006, using my boat a few times a week with lots of 3-7 day trips each season it has performed flawlessly......

i have had a cabelas pro sport 20 for two years now with no problems. maybe you just had a bad apple. I agree the minn kota is also a good unit. i think either way you go you woud be fine.

I have had a 2 bank and now have a 4 bank Minnkota charger and love them. Years ago I did have one of the banks go out on the 2 bank charger and I had a new one in less than a week covered under warranty. I have never had any other issues and never had any issues with the 4 bank charger.

I have the 330 and it does a great job. I view IB chargers like a computer... Spend as much money as you can afford and you will have something that will last a while and not get too obsolete. The quality of them and options has really gone up in the last 10 years and the new MK products for 2011 sound very intersting...

After reading the reviews on Cabela's website I think I'm going to go with the minn kota. Most people said that the Pro sport did not last long and/or ruined batteries. As mine did the same thing. I also like that the minn kota has an individual charge light for each bank/battery. I do have to say that I had a one bank pro mariner that performed flawlessly until I upgraded to a 24v trolling motor, then changed it out to a three bank. Thanks for the replies guy's.

Brad...........At twice the price the tournament 150 is surely better, but I hoped not to pay that much. Does that one have an indicator light for each bank? It may be worth it if it would last a few years though. Was hoping to get I-pilot and another HDS unit for next year. So the cash is adding up, especially after I buy 20 bulldawgs at the muskie show!!!

yes, it does....I didn't realize it was twice the price...I lucked out and got it from someone who was on their pro staff for a good price back in 06...it has been a great charger and I know a few others who have the same one as well.

why not look at Dual Pro or Guest? They will last the longest. MinnKota isn't bad but they are so #*^@ big and take up so much room. I have had dual pro and guest and they work fantastic for many years and they don't cost much more.

My experience has not been by brand but by the actual units themselves. The most common is a three bank losing one bank charging ability. I'm not sure the brand seems to matter.

Its between the Pro sport 20+ or the MK330 because I have already returned and got a new Pro Mariner. So its either keep it or exchange it for the MK and add a little money. Cabelas. Thanks.
