Any thoughts on what's hot would b appreciated. Planning on hitting the rocky breaks off Indian pt or mabey hawkbill. Waiting to see wind. Anyway I am just pumped!! Any thoughts would b awesome! I haven't spoken to anyone up there yet, but I will be out on Fri. as well, same pre opener tradition as you. and with the current wind report being 4 out of the W / NW most of the day riday, I am just going to circle Garrison reef ,shallow, deep, and in between, either until i'm dizzy or I get some other info.

I've fished the last 5 weekends on Mille Lacs and haven't had any luck. I've seen one fish, it was 52+ though. I've fished all the west side spots and last saturday I fished the S/E. I'm new to fishing Mille Lacs in the fall though and I'm probably not the best resource. But, I've been fishing anything with rocks from 2-14ft. Next time I'm out I'm going to start shallow on these reefs and make sure I work the deeper edges, I think I've hurt myself not fishing the 14-20 ft breaks. Good Luck...

If I don't contact anything on the reef, I am going to hit up some of the shoreline rocks. And if nothing there then to the Green Lantern for a late dinner. If you see a silver Crestliner with a Merc. pushing it around on the reef give me a wave.

Last weekend was tough. Fished every rock pile and whatever weeds still remain on the entire South end of the lake, Fished everything from South of Garrison over to the Red Door, and fished most rocks on the East side. Fished shallow....fished deep. Nothing even sighted. Was up a few weeks prior and saw eight fish but only boated a few nice Pike. Will be up again this weekend as things gotta pop one of these days.

sorry to hear you hit it so hard with none in the net. ml can be a very fickle lady. i am planning to work deeper, then up to shallow and back down. backup plan if nothing going is to troll the deep breaklines with big plastics and cranks....last time out, in mid august, i missed "THE BIG ONE" on a medussa. pulled 2 of my 3 tails off. hit like a ton of #$@%!. I have never felt a hit like that one....so i replaced the lure and ready to try again. different time of year but cant get that hit out of my head. wow! anyway good luck.....
