| Hey All,
I checked out posts for this and most are rather old going back to '02 and '03. Obviously, new lines have come out since then, etc.
Generally, I have used 100lb. on my jerkbait rods and 80lb. on my other rods.
I'm always concerned about backlashes with those heavy baits and figure that the 100lb. gives me a little extra protection.
What are the current thoughts and opinions on this? |

Location: Maple Grove, MN | I always go for lines that have a 20 lb diameter. For Tuff Line Plus, 80 lb has a 20 lb diameter. One needs 100 in some of the tighter woven lines like Tuff Line XP or Power Pro to get a 20 lb diameter. So, it depends on the line for me. Sometimes I use 80 lb and sometimes I use 100 lb, but I always prefer 20 lb diameter. |
