Subject: Marine Radio problems-help needed

This past weekend I "WAS" using my marine radio to contact other fisherman on the lake, when i decide to extended my antenna ( 10 foot) the marine radio stopped transmitting, I was able to hear everyone but i could not transmit or talk to anyone, I do not get the TX when I press down on the mic to talk,..the mic is molded into the unit...so i'm not sure what the deal is, . I even took apart the mic and nothing seems burnt? is there a fuse just for the transmitting part???has anyone come across this?????
