Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | As mentioned above, Stealth Tackle can make pretty much any leader you might be after. I can help you out on that as well through Musky Tackle Online. Stealth can tie you up 90#, 48" coated wire trolling leaders in either coated bronze or black wire. The black coated wire is thinner than the bronze which has a clear coating over the wire.

Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | Just an additional note on trolling leaders, one of the reasons people often go to the longer fluoro trolling leaders is to protect the fish when they roll, which they do quite a bit of when trolling, especially in the fall. For that reason I'd recommend the coated stranded leaders over the non-coated.

| go with charlier on ebay. charlier2753 is his ebay name. the very best leader maker i have seen and you should beable to get 2 for the price of 1 stealth. all you stealth fans really need to check out his leaders. stealth using a nail knot witch is a strong not but not as strong as the cable knot that charlie uses and he has up to 300lb fluorocarbon. also makes mono and wire leaders. |

| Another guy on ebay makes some very good leaders. Check out musky dick, have had good results with his fluoro leaders. He is retired and knows what he is doing. Been around for a long time. |

| Jim from glittertails makes a very good nylon coated seven strand wire leader in any size you want. He can be reached at the glittertail website. A couple of years ago he ran numerous stress tests on various leaders and as a result I use a 30" nylon coated seven strand with timbles to eliminate any weak points. He also makes flouro and other types of leaders.
On a side note it often amazes me how much money individuals will have tied up in rods, reels, line, and lures and then skimp on the leaders. The system is only as strong as the weakest link.

Location: VA | While we're on leaders....... I bought some material from Gander, Berkley selves, and Berkley coated wire......I made a few leaders and haven't tried them yet, but they sure look good and seem ok. Anyone use the Berkley materials?

| I have been using the stealth tackle leaders and they seem to be very good so far. I Don't think the knot is of too much concern as he ties, crimps, and glues the leaders ( at least the flouro's that I use ) and none have even acted like they thought of coming undone. My biggest thing with stealth is that he is a guy that hand makes his leaders, doesn't charge a fortune for them, and is friendly. You can call him up and he will gladly answer any questions that you may have and get you exactly what you are wanting. |
