Posts: 32890 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | A full field of 125 boats will take off from Lakeview Inn tomorrow morning on Pelican Lake in Oneida County Wisconsin competing for cash and prizes of up the $60,000.00. Fishing hours are from 7 AM to 5 PM. In addition to the prize dollars, a fully rigged X190 and $10,000 in cash are on the line for the first 50" muskie caught on a Suick lure. This event benefits the Marshfield Ronald McDonald House. A rules meeting for evening registrants was held tonight at 8:30 PM, and another for morning arrivals will begin tomorrow morning at 6:00AM.The weather looks pretty tough through part of the day, but the bite could be superb. Sue and I will be on the water judging, and will offer live reports whenever the weather allows us to use the computer out in the boat! Posts: 32890 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The KWM anglers made it out this morning despite bad weather and a minor mishap at the dock. The first fish was registered by Mike Suick, a 36" fish from the north shore caught on a weighted 12" Suick. Two hours into the Kwm there are three fish registered, a 36, a 39' and a 48.5! The 48.5 was also caught on a Suick, and was a heavy fish, creating some excitement for the Team hoping it would crack the 50" mark.

Posts: 32890 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | KWM Final Standings: 1st Place, 48.5",Team Steve Verstegen 8:20 AM Second, 48", Team Johnathan Ison 9:05 AM Third, 45.25", Team Robert Prahl 9:20 AM Fourth, 40.25" (hybrid) Team Mark Stevens Fifth Place, 39.25", team Lancaster Sixth Place, 39.25", Team Jim Buchberger Seventh Place, 39", Team Scott VanAsten Eighth, 38.5" Team Jeff Somers Ninth, 36" Team Suick, Tenth, 35.5", Team Dantoin Everyone had a really great time at the KWM again this year; the full field offered a few challenges that Gary and his crew executed well. Ten fish were registered with the largest hitting 48.5 on the Muskie Bumper board. The dinner was excellent, and it took over an hour to give away the door prizes and announce raffle winners. I personally can't thank the anglers, Gerrits and the crew, ALL the sponsors, and the Judge boat operators, without whom the event would not have been possible. I also want to thank the folks who donated a few bucks to the cause; the Ronald McDonald House Charities, specifically to benefit the Marshfield WI House. After losing my son Kevin (Keith's twin brother) in a gun accident it was easy to select the Marshfield House as the charity to support with the Memorial. If you ever have a very ill child or grandchild, and a Ronald McDonald House is near you may stay in, you will agree. Kevin loved to fish, and really loved fishing muskies. He would have been delighted with this event for sure. Thanks again to everyone involved!!
