| Hey just curious how most guys retrieve their flap tails... I just got one a few weeks ago and have moved some decent fish on it, but have yet to get one to eat it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Location: Minnesota. | Flip it boatside and get the retrieve so you feel the tail flap and maybe click if you have a protruding spud for it to click against...
Otherwise just maximize the flutter as you reel in near the boat and remember that feeling!
Then cast it way out there...again an' again! Great bait!!
Don't set until you feel him! Easier said than done... |

Location: Elroy, Wisconsin | I have spent considerable time on the water with flaptails, especially Snodlowes. There are no rules, but here are a few things that have worked for me over the years.
1. Retrieve slow, you don't want the tail spinning 360 degrees, just role back in forth with rhythm.
2. Leader has to be on the lighter side to allow the bait to work properly.
3. You can bend the front wire and the back brass bracket to achieve a properly working lure.
4. Big fish lure after dark, the best period
5. Works best on calm or slightly rippled water.
6. Works on figure 8 if you plunge it under water at the boat
7. Not a search bait, but one I always work on a really big fish
8. Weeds and shallow rocks, center bars, shallow bays....You Bet
