Subject: Spider Lake Hayward questions

Looking at renting a cabin on Spider Lake for a week. Is Clear and and North accessible from Spider with a 620? What lake is the better for muskies? Have they stopped stocking these lakes? It looks like there hasn't been stocking in a long time. Is ther natural reproduction? Does this lake get speared?

Thanks,

Chad

Both will be a tight fit... a lot depends on water level. Usually there's a foot and a half of water to get into Clear, soft sand bottom if you hit. North can be tricky. You have to manage your way through about the same shallow depths AND through a metal culvert. I've ruined a prop going through that dang thing. Unless you're up for a challenge, you might be best off on the main lakes. Good luck!

Was up in June and July. The water level was fine in/out of clear and big/little and they have had quite a bit of rain since. I made it under the culvert into north no problem w/my 18' lund w/full walk thru windshield which i believe sits quite a bit higher out of the water than your ranger. Just raise motors and pull thru manually using the underside of the culvert. Great action in north is worth the effort

Chad, with the amount of rain they've gotten in the last few weeks, you should be fine getting into Clear. Never been into North. Fun lake, lots of fish.
