I hope this does not violate any rules. , I just got a custom snap cover done by Erichson Marine Canvas in Shakopee, MN and was really really happy with the whole experience. Jeff accommodated me since I was from out of town and got it done for me pretty quick while I took the wife to Mall of America. The cover he made can be used for trailering or mooring at the dock. He cut 4 flaps for the cleats and put velcro on them. He attaches the snaps to the bottom of the rub rails and it looks really nice and neat and stays tight when trailering. The price was fantastic. I cannot say enough about this place. He is not a huge company but he does all different boats for the marinas in his area. I know a lot of you guys are up north or travel there. It is well worth it for a snap cover at what they charged. Their website is www.topgunboatcovers.com. Just wanted to pass on a great place for someone else if they want it.

Later, Tom

I really like my Cockpit cover too. It is a dome snap as well, but you will find that if you trailer with it, the dome snaps eventually pull and become very hard to unsnap. The leads to the dome head female section ripping apart. Simple fix, but a pain in the butt at time.

This is still the best way to go IMO.

Glad to hear you had a good experience there. I called him for a quote the other day and he was really helpful.

While the Erichson does sound like a fine product, if you're having durability issues I recommend Canvas Craft custom boat covers out of Rogers, MN. Matt and Ben will take good care of you, and they can custom fit just about anything.

I have a tiller model boat so it basically lays pretty flat except for the poles. It is Top Gun material which I like so far much better than the regular canvas I had on my old boat. I only trailer with the cover on maybe 6 times a year. He guaranteed it so, if it does rip from trailering it will be something they will repair. I am sure other companies out there do very good work as well. I just wanted to share my good experience and maybe help other guys. Thanks, Tom
