Posts: 40 Location: Elkhorn, WI | Just bought a Toro Revo Winch 60. In the past I've usually stuck with 80# Tuffline or Fireline (whichever was cheaper). It seems like all the superbraids last so long I might as well get the best instead of the cheapest. Just wondering what others think the best is. Thanks.

Posts: 196 | I've been using 80lb Braid power pro and had awesome luck with it.....I am currently getting a reel that is spooled with 80 lb spiderwire braid, I will let you know how that is.....some of the guys on here said they had good luck with the cortland master braid, but whatever you do, I don't recommend cortland spectron braid.....I bought some because they were out of powerpro and snapped it off twice within an hour....I have pulled harder on my 20 lb sufix monofilament! Anyway, that's what I know......I have used the vicious mom with great luck and I heard the braid was just as good. Hopefully this will be some help.

Posts: 196 | I will admit that the powerpro most definitely holds water, and you want to give it a light throw after it's dry before you start bomb casting because it will sit differently on the spool than it did when wet......thanks by the way guys for answering my question about the sufix braid, all I use bass fishing anymore is sufix! That is by far the toughest, most abrasion resistant, smoothest casting line I have ever used. I fished local tournaments for a few years and tried about every line on the market and that was in my opinion the best, so I will be trying their braid soon!

Posts: 582 | Using powerpro mostly because it just works. Never had any issues other than it bleeding. I have used Stealth 80# and it works too. The only difference i see between these 2 is that Stealth cuts alot easier. Just take a piece of each and cut it with a knife. The stealth cuts without a problem telling me it would be less of a line to use if you are playing around rocks. That being said, i have never had a problem with it but it does seem to be most adverse to abrasion than PP. I have been using vicious this year and although its a tough line, it seems to backlash more than any line i have ever used. its strong however, and doesn't bleed or hold alot of water. Jury is still out. I will be trying suffix this year as i just bought a new reel. Alot of people say its pretty good.

Posts: 238 | Tuff line xp in 65 and 80 lb is all i use.80lb is my primary line weight that i throw 99%.I have two downsize combos that i use once in a while with 65lb when the conditions dictate for smaller baits like jigs, small cranks and small swimbaits.

Posts: 551 Location: Columbus, Georgia | Another vote for Cortland's Masterbraid Bronzeback I have used Cortland Spectron and found that if the line gets knicked or grazed by a hook point or the barb ... it begins to fray in that spot almost immediately. The Masterbraid is much more durable and does not retain much water. The best part is it will not leak colors (Power Pro) all over your hands, clothes, the boat, and anything else that's near you when you are fishing. I am still amazed that guys put up with that bleeding. Just about ruined a runabout I had a few years ago. I scrubbed the floor of that boat for hours to get rid of the green and red dye. The stains never completely went away. It's like saying you bought a new shirt: "It ruined the rest of my clothing when I did the wash ... but that was only on the first few loads. Now I can wash the shirt with everything else and it won't ruin the rest of my clothes, anymore." Edited by cjrich 7/24/2010 1:47 PM

Posts: 52 | Spiderwire Stealth Camo 65#. I also have had PowerPro leak its color on my hands and in the real. Also, when you do get a backlash it seems to "dig" deeper making it harder to get out. Although I have backlashed the Stealth throwing into the wind, it comes right out for me!

Posts: 829 Location: Maple Grove, MN | I prefer Tuffline Plus in 65 and 80 lb. I use 65 lb on the 5600 class reels and 80 lb on everything else. I lke the way it casts and it is incredibly durable in weeds and rocks. It is by far the toughest line I've tried. I also like the white color which makes seeing the line easy. Only problem is it does suck up a little water which can get annoying late in the fall. One thing I cannot stand is green line. Fish can see it and I can't. Just not a good idea in my opinion.

Posts: 439 Location: Lake of the Woods, Morson, Ontario | I put 80# Spiderwire Ultra Cast invis-braid on all my new reels this year and have been very happy with it. In the past I used TUF, TUF PLUS and TUF XP in 80 for casting and 100 for some trolling applications and would have no probem using it again.
