Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | I think a true musky lure company would be Suick or they would be in the top 3. I have a few vinatage lure books and I see many musky lures that date back into the 1800s but not a company that concentrated on musky lures as their main line like Suick did. If nothing else a great lure company history, family name, products and customer servive lives on with Suick!

Posts: 458 | 14" Jake, 13" Believers and 1 and 2lb Dawgs are all good contenders. I just got a 12" Phantom and a 16" Danczyk but I don't think you could call those mass produced but #*^@ are they big.

And is it a softail? When was it produced?

I've heard of guys trolling for muskie with those giant rapalas that are meant for the wall, if that counts.

Posts: 1207 Location: Pigeon Forge TN. | put a motor on it and use it for a PWC. Not mass produced, but the biggest musky lure I have seen and have custom painted three of are the 24 inch Legend XL. Other wise as stated above, I would go with Suicks also.

About 7 or 8 years ago, we put DBL Ten blades in front of a barbie and trolled her out east...clearly the idea caught on in the midwest, just minus barbie...It was a pretty large bait at the time, good for a laugh or two...as well some blow ups in the prop wash, just hard to keep hooks in with the rubber body....BR

And is it a softail? When was it produced? I just got it from Thorne Brothers and I would say it is about 1.5lbs easy and it is not a softtail. I will only have one setup to throw it with and I can't wait to throw it.

Posts: 1207 Location: Pigeon Forge TN. | No picture, but wish I had. I painted one in Golden Firetiger, one in Durst Purple Daze and one in a special request from the owner for a "Dying Walleye" I remember them well cause they were a real challenge to do. They came out perfect. I seldom ever took pictures at that time. I could only hope someone has one and takes a picture and posts it.
