Trolled a spread of crankbaits on a local body of water last night and the Musky Armor "Krave" walleye got ate 3 times.(38", 39" & 48") That makes 6 fish in the boat in the last two trips.

Posts: 2691 Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Kieth from Muskie Armor was just up in my boat Thursday afternoon. I just got some of the Krave Jr's. Great action on these baits. We trolled them for about two hours along with another local favorite. Was not long before we got a muskie. Water temps are dangerously high here in Southeastern Wisconsin so muskie fishing is on the down low. The Krave Jr will be getting back out soon. I got the walleye and a few other choice colors. Can't wait to get them back in the water. Great baits for sure as are all the Lungen baits!!!

2.5 m.p.h was the magic number the other day. They can be run much faster if necessary. I was running the bait 45' behind a board in 25' of water and all 3 fish came within 100 yds of each other.

nclaker - 7/16/2010 10:33 AM Todd, are you using the regular size or Jr for most of your success? Thanks I have been casting and twitching the jrs. and trolling the full size. These and Slammers have been my go to baits as of late. I will be filming the jrs. over the next couple of days.......then I will be devoting my time over the next week to the Lumberjack World Championships. After that is over I will be doing lots of video trolling in search of the elusive recorded strike.

Location: Northern Wisconsin | I dont troll at all, so If I were to pick up 1 krave for casting (twitching and ripping), what size would you all recommend. Is this lure comparible to any other lures? Edited by fish4musky1 7/16/2010 2:21 PM

Posts: 388 | There is some mixed information about the size offering on this lure including the Musky Armor website. The Krave is listed anywhere betwen 9.5" and 10.5". The Jr is listed between 7" and 8". Not sure if the lip is being included in some of the length figures as the Krave has a lip that protrudes beyond the nose of the bait. Generally twitch bait lips doe not extend beyond the front hook loop. Reason for my question is that a 10.5" body lenght lure becomes pretty large for casting and twitching and would seem more suitable for trolling. A 9.5" would be OK i think for casting and twitching. The Jr at 8" would seem perfect for just about anything. Also curious if these are solid plastic or hollow plastic construction with some kind of through wire. Is the lip integral with the plastic body or is it glued into the body structure. Don't live near the musky outlets so the input is much appreciated.

I just mesaured mine, The Jr is 7" the regular Krave is 9.5" The lip extends a little. Both are good crankers and twitchers and i can troll em fast i dont think they are solid plastic. but the only place i see a mold seem is on the lip. the hangers.

Cast as easily as a 10" Jake or similar sized bait.

Posts: 44 | Hi Hope everybody is having a fun and safe fishing season. This post was just brought to my attention. Yake: The Krave is 9 1/2” 10 1/2” including the lip, the Krave Jr is 7 1/8 7 ¾ including the lip Both sizes are suitable for both casting and trolling, we consider 9.5” about the maximum casting size for the average fisherman. The construction is hollow plastic & the lip is integrated. We tested both baits trolling through rocks etc with no issues; in fact Dough Johnson trolled his Krave for 2 full weeks on LOW pounding rocks with no breaking leaking hook hanger issues. Fish4Musky: Either size will work well for twitching and ripping depends on the water your fishing, the std Krave is a bit more buoyant than the Jr. Wolftackle84: No blanks at this time please send us an email, we will contact you if and when we will sell blanks.. MuskieE: Nice! Casting or Trolling Todd: Nice vid work, one of these days it will happen for you, hope its on one of ours!! Hope that answers some of the questions. I haven’t been musky fishing latley 85+ water, but have been running the Krave Jr on the big pond. The kings love em was up to 5 on one until a screamer busted the line$#@(! Have a great Summer!
