I put a Trinidad on a St Croix Sling Blade and the reel does not fit completly snug in the reel seat. When I burn doulble 10's the reel shifts back and forth. I am wondering if anyone else has seen this. If you have, what did you do to fix it?

wrap electrical tape around the reel seat until it fits snug on the rod

I had the same problem with a St. Croix Premier and a bass reel. i sent the rod back to St. Croix, and they replaced the reel seat and the cork. Everything works great now. You shouldn't have to use electrical tape on a $300 rod.

The problem is it might not be the reel seat, it might be the reel foot, and if SC replaces it you'll have the same problem.
Stick another reel on there. Does it wiggle? If so, send the rod back. If not, send the reel back or tape the feet with electrical tape.

Good point. I tried 3 reels on my rod before sending it back. All of them popped out of the reel seat on a hook set. Good thing it was only Smallmouth!
