Location: Roseau | I have a 19' 1990 spectrum that has a rivited hull. The front left has a dent about 2' in diameter and is in about 2". It leaks a fair amount around some of the rivits. Is there a fix for this?
Thanks |

| Make sure the boat is dry and J-B Weld the $^@% out of it on the inside where the leaks are at. This happened to an older aluminium boat that I used to fish out of and after the application of J-B Weld there never was another issue. |

Location: Cave Run Lake KY. | Id say yes it can be fixed, first if you have insurance call them to get a estimate on the repair damage just like your auto insurance, also have them recommend a repair service to go to near by. If you don't,then check with your local repair shops. |

Location: Roseau | Thanks for the help. I should have mentioned an at home fix is what I am looking for, got the boat from the old man and rigged it up, I knew it had a leak, just put insurance on it today.
Thanks |

Location: Canada | Not sure how well an "at home fix" will work or hold up in the long run. The proper repair will be to have someone repair the dent and replace the rivets. We had our 1700 Spectrum gutted and sent it down to get 50 or so rivets put in it as well as weld up the corners on the transom, it was like $600. But like I said we did all the gutting as the boat was bought cheap from the previous owner as he tried to customize/repair it himself and got in over his head. |
