Ok, I am now making the leap to try and tye my own flasahabou tails.

I have a good handle on where to get the flashabou and other components, but any tips or tricks would be appreciated, especially if you use a tying vise, or if you get by with something different.

Thanks.

Thanks, yes, I was mainly trying to get an idea if people are using a tying vise, or perhaps using something else.

I bolted a tying vise onto my work station. I cut a length of coil and on the end of the coil, I bend it so that there is a tag end sticking out 90 degrees from the coil. I place that in the vise and lock it in tight, then start tying. You can cut that tag off if you want but I just leave it on and use it as a built in spacer on my coils.
