| what are yours thoughts on syncork, looking to get h predator made and just debaiting about syncork |

| It is durable and stays cool despite the black color, but I am finding it is irritating to use in warmer weather when you have short sleeves on. It is rough and irritating when you tuck the butt end under your arm. I am not sure everyone holds a rod like this, but I do and it is annoying and chafing.
Has anyone used light sandpaper on the syncork handle to smooth it out?

| that's the answer stevev...i hand sanded all three of my syncorked rods down until they were perfect for me...i agree they are cooler and they don't hold water / stay soaked like standard cork handles which is another plus in my opinion... |

Location: MN | The olny thing I might do diffrent is instead af the whole handle syncro it to have the rear regular cork and the fore grip syncro cork. The syncro cork is hard as a rock and if I was a thinner man it would hurt like hell, but I do love the grip it has even when it's wet. |

Location: Twin Cities | I have it on a predator, you need to hand sand it to the desired finish. It'll rough up the skin on your ribs depending on what and how you fish if not smoothed out. I prefer it over regular cork now, i'd also recommend the modified foregrip, very comfy for ripping the big stuff. |

Synthetic material "is-not" cork
Synthetic cork has been around a long, long, long time on bargain-basement rods for a reason ... it's "cheap"
try to put lipstick on it all you want ... it is not cork, not as good or as comfortable and you should be getting a discount on the rods as compared to real cork based on the cost difference.
or tell yourself it's awesome ... and pay comparable or a premium to make the marketers right.
or something like that ... :0) |

May I recommend syncork foregrip and real cork handle? Best of both worlds... a sure grip in soaking wet or arid dry conditions AND you don't get a rash from the handle rubbing into your side.
I also agree with getting the Wells foregrip. Ultimate comfort.

IMHO it doesn't need to cost more to be better... if it's useful, it's better. I hold the foregrip, so syncork helps me "get a grip", so to speak.
