Looking at purchase of this motor. Current owner said he replaced fuel pump about 1.5 years ago. He said it is oil injected and carborated. I don't know alot about these. Will be using on wide beam 17 foot alum hull. Any experience(pro or con) with this motor?

I have a 2000 115 Johnson v-4. It is carbureted and was oil injected. I had the fuel pump problem as well and it was $400 to replace. At that time I had the oil injection removed for precautionary measures. It has always run very well for me. It is a little cold blooded, but all carb'd engines are. Also, always make sure to use stabil or seafoam when winterizing or it will take a long time to start. I wouldn't hesitate buying it. I have it on a 16 1/2' bassboat

i had a 1993 150 Faststrike on my STratos bass boat. I have to say, it was a good motor. Never any problems. I hit 63 mph on my boat with a 26 pitch prop.
