Location: North Central IL USA | Water pump and impeller was replaced last year and I've only used the engine a few minutes here and there just to keep in running shape. It was working fine when I tested it last time out last fall.
Now I'm getting no water flow but I *am* getting air flow out of the pee hole.
If I blow air into the pee hole, it comes out the water pump inlet hole.
When I blow air into the inlet hole, it blows out of the pee hole.
I put the lower until in a tank of water, fire it up; no water out of the pee hole but lots of airflow.
What gives????

Location: Minnesota: where it's tough to be a sportsfan! | did you run it for a decent amount of time. The impellers can get dry & brittle. I think I'd take it right back where I had the work done. I had a situation just like this on a motor that quit pumping when my son was running it. Unfortunately it was my brothers motor. So you know how that goes...I had a dealer I did not know put a new impeller and test the pump. Apparantly he had a new impeller but it was really old and brittle. Held together for about a three week period and all that was left was a nobby wheel! The dealer fessed up when I brought the part back in to him. He replaced it no charge but I had to do the install as I had taken it apart. |

Location: Hopefully on the water | I would check 2 things. The first is the "pee-hole itself to see if anything got in there over the winter to partially block it. Secondly I would check to make sure the hose that connects between the 2 are intact and hooked up right and not cracked. I had a similar issue with the main motor and it was just some sand that got clogged. I was able to ream it out gently and blow it out and no problems after that. |
