I have two suzy spins, i like them. But they need to be brought it with some speed to get the tail to thump, if not the tail just sits there.

So If you want to fish them slow, go with curly. if speed is your game go suzy

I like both the heli-dawg and curly spin.
The curly spin is a much smaller bait and is great for down sizing and also can be slow rolled much shallower than the heli-dawg.
On the flip side when you need a bigger profile bait the heli-dawg is the best choice.
I plan on picking up a couple suzy spins before I head north for the wisconsin opener.
Andy at Shack Attack makes a great product and is a stand up guy too.

Normal Curly, hands down for pike, add a teaser from MI or make one youreself and you're in business.
Slow or fast.

The difference between the Suzy Spin and Curly Spin, is that the Suzy Spin is made for fast retrieves. The Suzy Spin is one of my confidence baits and I use it all the time burned just below the surface over shallow water or sunken weed beds. I caught most of my fish last year (pike, musky and even a couple of bass) on the Suzy Spin.

The Curly Spin can be used either fast or slow, and is great for slow rolling.

Both baits will need tuning, you have to bend the wire by the nose of the bait, so that the body will run horizontally. This will also help get the tail beating on the Suzy Spin at slower speeds.

Either way you can’t go wrong no matter which lure you buy, you get an all American high quality hand-made lure.

Here is a picture to show you what I mean.

I would highly recommend getting both. We were able to fish with a suzy spin last year and the pike ate them up like crazy! Similar to Andy, we fished them just over weeds, letting the bait sink into the weeds once in a while and ripping it out of them. On those slow, sunny, sluggish days, this was definitely one of the only things to get fish in the boat. I'm really excited to get a curly spin in the water this summer. Thinking that it will be the ticket to some nice early season 'skis.
