I have a Minn Kota Vector 3X transom mount trolling motor and I have been having an intermittent problem for the past season...here is how I can best describe it:

Trolling speed is at power "5" and then suddenly the blades are barely turning and I have to set the speed to "10" to get the power I would normally get from a speed setting at "5." Then after a few minutes it will go back to operating normal. This problem probably happens about 30% of time on the water but when you're on the water a lot it adds up!

Please rule out all possible issues with batteries, connections and wiring...I have looked into it. Minn Kota says it might be a problem with a part called the "control board assembly" which costs over $100!

Anyone have a similar problem or know anything about this?

Thanks,

Chas Martin

sorry, it's the control board.the on/off and speed controls switches are all part of the board and it's functions so if only one thing doesn't work the entire board has to be replaced.it will have a 90 day factory warranty on the new part.
