| I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this continually happening there. I got word from a good reliable source that this is happening there. He wanted to warn me because I love fishing there in late fall. He says they are just targeting cars with Illinois license plates. I hope this is not the case because I am from Chicago area and don't mind pumping money into that local area. Thanks, Al[:0] |

| Alan,
I wouldn't worry too much about getting your tires slashed but you might contact the local law enforcement either muni or county and check on it real quick. I have hear many stories about many of the ramps I have parked in over the years but have never had my truck vandalized in any way. We have this problem at one of our local ramps every couple years(lots of night fishing and camping on the lake) but the county deputies seem to enjoy staking it out and getting to use their night vision goggles so it never seems to be a continuing problem.
Sounds like the kind of story they would tell IL fisherman to keep the lake to themselves.
I wonder if it would work on the OHIO Navy? [:)] |

| I did hear, through a reliable source, that around July 4th there were 24 IL plated vehicles that had their tires slashed by cowardly vandals in the Silver Lake/Wilmot area. Have not heard anything since, and have been out there several times after the incidents as well, and have had no problems.
Hopefully it was just an isolated incident of some immature punks getting their rocks off.

| I heard the report on CLTV.
Here is why. The fisherman get out early and the ramp is full by 8 or 9 am. No wake untill 10am, so when the pleasureboaters come, there is no place to park and they have to sit and wait for the fisherman to leave before they can put in, otherwise they get a ticket. With plenty of il plates in the lot and the love some cheeseheads have for us flatlanders, this is what happens. There are actually less places to park now than before if you ask me. I have seen the law there alot now and I think they may have a handle on it. I doubt this will be a problem in the fall. |
