I'll start off by saying hi! My name is Jason and I'm 22 and from charleston wv I'm just getting started in Muskie fishing I've only been doing it from the bank for about a month I've caught one lil one so far but I am hooked but any way I found this site because I'm pretty handy with wood ect and figured I could start building my own lures so I could get stocked up since my toy funds are low these days I figured this was the next best thing I've looked at every post on the building forum took me about two weeks and I finally registered and decided to post my father inlaw fishes the pmtt (gary treadway) and has help me alot he gave me a badger 200 airbrush kit with 2 gallon compressor with alotta paint he also gave me around 2 or 3000 ss screweyes to get started building so I'm I. The process of setting up my shop a 10/12 building and shoping for a scroll saw and router to get started so anyway sorry for rambling what I was wanting is all the tips you guys could throw my way Ireally need it I need to know what epoxie to use also and how to aply it and I was also wanting some pics of your guys buildi g shops so I could get some ideas but that's alot and I look forward to youralls replys

Wow, that's alot to text from a phone! LOL

Welcome aboard. I guess the first thing you need to decide is what lures you're going to build. Topwater, cranks, etc. You mentioned that you have a scroll saw and router, that's a great start. The only thing I would recommend getting is a disc or belt sander. Those are the three tools that I use. Sometimes I only use a band saw and disc sander. You will also need a lure dryer which can easily be made from a grill rotissarie kit ($25). PM me with your email if you want pics of mine- nothing fancy but it gets the job done. As far as epoxy, some guys like Devcon 2 Ton, some like E-Tex Lite- it's a matter of personal preference. I am attempting a new epoxy that's made for coating guide wraps on rods, it stays super clear and is rock hard.
