With the early spring and the record warm weather you are going to have to be prepared for a summer pattern on the opener in northern Wisconsin. The water temps are in the high 50's low 60's on the smaller dark water lakes and in the high 40's to mid 50's on the big clear lakes. This weekend fishing walleyes we are seeing muskies in 3 to 5 ft. of water already. The spawn will be early and the muskies will we on the bite heavy when the season opens the end of may. Small baits are usually the way to go but this year don't be surprised if the lager bucktails and divers do the trick. If you are headed to northern Wisconsin call some of the bait shops and guides in the area to see what they are hitting. Water levels are getting lower if anything so BE CAREFUL!!!! Hope to see you on the water. Good Luck!!
