Posts: 29 | I have the oppurtunity to buy a couple reels at a good price my question is which reel would be better. Gonna go with the 60 series with a power handle. The reel will be going on a elite tech 8'6 xh model. As for gear ratio 6;4;1 or 5;4;1 mainly for double 10's but also some big plastics as well. The winch has a stronger drag system but does not hold as much line which would be a good choice.

I'm waiting for two toro 60 winch reels from pure fishing and one of them wiill be going on the same eltich tech 8-6 XH you are speaking of. The other will be on the 9HF predator I picked up last spring. I have the toro 60 HS 6.4:1 on my jerk bait rod while my wife has the 5.4:1 on her bucktail rod. I haven't used the winch yet myself, but can't wait to get them. I don't think the line capacity is much of an issue.

Posts: 1270 | Since you can buy a couple why not buy one of each? Then you have everything covered!

Posts: 1185 Location: Iowa | Toro Winch for sure...I own them both and love them both but for that big bait rod I would pair it up with the Toro Winch Big Perc
