I took my son out musky fishing today. He caught his fish fish. Not a musky but a bass. I rigged a perch rig for musky pike and northern. WE were fishing with walleye suckers after we caught the bass we hooked into a 34 inch tiger ,i managed to get it to shore and then my son jumped in the water to try and help me get it on land. When he jumped in it freaked me out and I dropped the pole to grab him.We ended up with 5 smallies and one walleye!!!The kicker he is only 18 months!!!

That is terrific that you are instilling a love for fishing at such an early age. Congrats on getting him his first, I'm sure you're a very proud papa! Nice job!

That brings back so many great memories , my son also caught his first fish at around 18 months 17 inch smallie, now he will be 18 in August and almost always outfishes dad( note I said ALMOST ), no good when the student outdoes his teacher . Many congrats to your little man , I hope many fine memories to come, cherish them all, they grow up way to fast.

That is awsome. Good job on getting him interested at the young age. Just watch out in the future on howaddicted they get with the outdoors. My son is fully hooked and it is a great feeling and watching them pick out their baits they want to get . It is a great sight plus when the kid or kids want to go fishing it si easier to let them pursuade the wife into going out fishing for a while because they want to go. Good work and keep tha boy on fish and you will have a fishing partner for life with the hopes of being outfished by your son. It is great for the both of you.

That's great how your showing him how to rig a sucker for muskie fishing. you can never start them to early.

Enjoy life,
