| once again it is all about the build quality and technology. a poorly built dz will fall apart quickly - dz are under higher compression ratios. look at the recent dz from navistar in the ford superduties. now compare that engine to a mercedes truck dz - they will run 400,000 miles. but they cost a lot more to build.
i do have a ? - if the 225 opti and 225 proxs are near equal in hp does the proxs have a better hole shot and midrange?

Location: Watertown, MN | 03 HO running strong no issues except me taking out the lower unit. HO is I believe the label for Evinrude 225, you cannot just buy a 225 Etec they all are HO. I know several people that have run them and they have no problems. Dont take care which motor you run, if you do not maintain, they will break.

That's a function of the prop more than horsepower.
