| Hey guys,
I figured this would be a good place to ask. My 90 merc 2 stroke, decided this weekend to not discharge water consistently. I have hooked it up to water and run some air and water through the line to clear any debris. I am wondering if this is just a water pump issue, do I need to replace it, or is it a sign of something else? Any good outboard shops can do this a reasonable time, know any good one is the south metro for MN? Any input would be great, thanks |

| I would guess you have a faulty impeller possibly. I've gotten small pieces of sand inside before. If you didn't disconnect all hoses and force air through the whole system make sure you try that. Remove all screens because junk gets caught there. Can't recommend a dealer since I am not in that area but the guys at hallberg marine in Wyoming are awesome. |

Location: syracuse indiana | backflush the motor too, thats why most of the newer motors have them on them.. use the muffs for a bit so motor heats up then put the hose back onto the backflush nozzel on the motor with the motor off, ud be supprised at all the crap comes out of that motor

Location: Richland Center, WI. | Not sure what kind of bug it was but some bug packed dirt up in the pee hole on the back of my Mercury 90hp 4 stroke. Started the motor up at the lake and noticed no water coming out of the pee hole. Took a piece of wire and cleaned it out and solved the problem. Now when I get back home and cover the boat up, I screw a small plastic pop bottle onto the fitting where the pee hole/ back flush fitting is. This keeps the bugs/dirt out of there. Hope this helps.

Usually a couple times a year I take the pee hole elbow off and clean it out. Everytime I don't see water coming out, it ends up just being plugged a little. |
