Location: Contrarian Island | yarcrafts to me are a much better big water walleye boat than musky rig..they sit higher out of the water and will catch wind a lot more than others....I would buy a ranger over a yarcraft for a lot of other reasons too... |

Location: Contrarian Island | I guess I believe Rangers are the absolute top of the line, when it comes to fit/finish, and quality. resale on a Ranger might be better as well. my suggestion is get in them, open all the compartments, stand on the front deck and see how it feels...both are good boats, I'd still pick the Ranger. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Yar Craft is built in Wausau Wisconsin at the Norlen facility, and is well built. The fact it's a 2007 doesn't make it real attractive if the intent is to sell the rig within a couple years, but if the deal is good enough, it's a great boat, and if the intent is to keep it for a few years, the model year isn't that important. Make sure the front deck is what you need, I like larger decks personally.
The Ranger also is a great boat. What you need to do is look at both and compare the layout and features, and decide if $5K is well spent based on your personal needs and wants or if the Yar Craft does it for you.

| I have owned a 17SC Yar and currently own a Ranger 690. My opinion:
Both are great boats. I loved my Yar...very well built, handled all water well, and very fishable. Agreed that it sits higher, but it does give you a very good dry ride on big water. It wasn't an issue for me and I thought it was a great musky boat.
I will say that once I went Ranger, I would prefer not to go back. I think the quality is unmatched and the feel and fishability is great. You will pay more for Ranger and need to factor that in. Resale will be better with a Ranger, but is not bad by any means with a Yar. If resale is important though, keep in mind you are comparing an '07 Yar & '10 Ranger.
If it was me, I would probably make the decision based on how much I was going to use the boat and if I could justify spending the extra $ based on useage. I don't beleive you would be disappointed with the quality of either. |

| For musky fishing it would be Ranger hands down. Bigger front deck, lower to the water and great hull for trolling and staying on track. Add in resale value and the overall quality and it really is a no brainer. |

| How about the Ranger Reata 1750 or the 1850? I think this is a little bit better boat and a better ride from what I have heard than the angler. I own a ranger 690vs and looking to upgrade to the ranger Reata 2050. In any case, I would 100% go to Ranger. |

Location: Indiana | Since you are looking at the 1760 Angler antoher suggestion would be to look at the 1860 that is still new but a inventory hold over. I picked up one in 09 that was an 08 and saved some money over new which went towards upgrades. The 1860 is more popular then 1760 so it might be easier to find. Unless you don't have room for it. I love mine and like the extra space. |

| The ranger... plus its newer. And in the grand scheme of things, if you plan to keep it for a while that 5k in price spread across multiple years won't matter. The ranger is just a fantastic boat and the resale will be good as well. |
