Location: Williamstown, WV | Looking at either Penn International 965 and Penn International 975 reels. What is the major difference? Looking for a good solid reel for my first canada trip. I'm looking to use this on medium to heavy baits and cowgirls. Thanks guys.

| Not sure on the difference, but I do own a 975. I have had for 3 years and not one problem. Would highly recommend for what you are doing. Pulls Double 13's with ease. Not the reel I would recommend if looking to burn. |

| 3 seasons on my 975 and no complaints other than a slight malfunction with the levelwind. Seems like you really have to keep on top of keeping it cleaned and oiled, but other than that it's been a workhorse. I am not sure, but I think the 965 is just a bit smaller than the 975??
Either way -- I'd buy another 975, which is more than I can say for most of the reels I have owned. |

Location: Hayward, WI | I don't have either, but I think the 975 is a little bigger and has a power handle. I'm pretty sure the 965 has a regular double paddle handle. I think the gear ratios and line pickup might be slightly different also. If you're going to be using it for double 10s I think I would look into the 975 from what I have read.

Location: oswego, il | I have a 955, 965 and a 975. They are the size of a garcia 5600, 6600 and 7000 repectively. I have a power handle on my 965 but I like the 975 for big blades alot better especially when you put the power handle on the longer attachment. Workhorse reels, they have lasted longer before service than any reel I have owned. Their only flaw is they don't work when it gets below freezing. |
