I just bought one of these for my girlfriend. What can this reel handle as far as lures go? She can't throw mag dawgs they're too heavy. She will be using it for reg dawgs and topwaters which I would assume would be fine. Would bucktails up to dbl 8's work without tearing it up too bad?

The 60 worked fine for double tens for me last year, so I dont see why the 51 will have any problem with double eights. I think she will be very happy with it.

Dbl 8 is the limit I put on the reel. I told her if she wants to throw anything heavier we will have to get her a real reel. Not a little girly one.

The Revo Toro series is anything but a "girly" reel... =)

Mine works great and I just ordered a second one.

I was reffering to the 51 size as girly not the toro series. I have 2 60's and like it so far.

IT will handle ANYTHING that the 60 will. Technically it is actually stronger than the 60 because it is narrower and there is less chance of any flex, although there is not flex in a 60 either. I have switched to the "girly" 50 size Toro on all my rods except the big 8'6" rods as I like the slightly heavier reel to balance out the longer rods.

that's what i was hoping to hear. I figured it was as strong as the 60 but knowing abu's past the smaller size made me think record nightmares. Thank you
