Hi,
I saw someone else was doing this so I figured why the heck not. My name is Matt Geissler and I live in Sun Prairie, originally from Chippewa Falls. I am currently a student at the UW Pharmacy School, married with two kids, 29 years old, live in an APARTMENT , have limited income, and most depressingly won't have the money to buy a boat until I graduate (approximately 798 days......). If anybody in the area would like to have a second in the boat I would be happy to help pay for gas. Usually, I wouldn't resort to asking on a forum, but lack of time prevents me from really getting into local musky clubs. I have all the necessary gear, have been musky fishing for several years now, and would be happy to share any lures I have.

Shoot me an email or call if interested,

Matt

I recently joined a musky club in my area... great new way to meet new people, learn way more than you ever thought was even possible about musky fishing and you'll definitely get out on a boat... or two. =)

Shoot me a PM and I'll keep you in mind if you don't mind short notice, or a little swearing!!!
I get out a good amount, it shouldn't be too hard to get you on a few fish....

Matt,
As the other guys posted above the CCMI is a great way to meet fellow anglers, and the meetings are open to members and nonmembers alike. I have met a ton of friends and fishing partners through CCMI. Also, if you fish with Jason it is more than a "little" swearing!

Matt, just a $.02 type of reply here......if you do nothing but heed the advice and/or accept the offers of those that have replied already, you will not be sorry!

Thanks guys.....I am happily surprised by all of the responses, but then again people who like the outdoors are some of the best people IMHO. I think I may have to carve out some time for the Capital City Muskies Club. Sounds like that would be a lot of fun! I can't wait for May 1st. Good luck on the water.......

Definately take the guys up on thier offers...Brad is darn near a fish himself...he spends so much time on the water...consequently...he knows how to really catch fish. Bomber is a die hard too and puts some nice fish in the boat....your getting offers from some seriously skilled guys...I would be jumping at the offers! I would offer myself...but I am a married man with three kids...so more times then not I am a boat sl*t as well just due to time!

Good luck this year...and welcome to madison!! Awesome fishery.

Hey,

Also from Madison area and have fished the lakes all my life. I don't belong to any club but do love to fish for the gators whenever I can. I get out quite a bit during the warmer months. Sounds like you are getting a lot of great offers and will make some new fishing buddies this year. I'd love a chance to meet some fellow fishing fanatics as well. I may have to check out the Cap City Muskie Club and share some good stories. I have my own boat and fish whenever I get the chance...but also married and with 3 kids so it is not as often as I would like.

Good luck to you and if you like shoot me an email [email protected]

Hey man, don't let grad school keep you from fishing. Assuming you're not on a full ride you're probably taking out a huge amount of loans anyway. Tack on a few grand and get a boat. That way you have something to show for your money other than just a piece of paper! That's what I did, best decision I made during school!

Don't do it. Don't ever go into debt for fun.

lol, whatever, when you're talking about over $100k in debt what difference does another $3k make? gotta live while you can. he's already likely going to be burdened by debt for the next 15-25 years due to grad school, why not have a boat? we're not talking about a brand new ranger.

I've thought about it, but then my better judgment took over. Thanks to saving and the Air Force veterans education benefits I shouldn't really be in debt when I get done. Two things are holding me back from a boat: 1) I probably would have a hard time pulling a boat with a 4 banger Kia Optima and 2) where would I keep the boat. Thanks to a lot of great guys who have already offered to share some boat space, it makes the 2 years I need to wait much more bearable. I need to remind myself I can't always have what I want when I want it.

Don't do it Matt remember you are going to need a down payment for your house that you are going to buy from me in a couple of years.LOL I have been using the Father in laws boat for 6-7 years now he dosen't even remeber he owns it. Lets take advantage of that and do some fishing on Wissota this year. We can toss the Livid Fish around. Josh

I agree with Wissota....plenty 14' john boats sitting idle with a heavy stock of livid fish in them.
