While I have proposed a couples get-away to LOTW's NW Angle Resort with my wife, Christie, she dropped the anvil on my foot when she said it sounded like it could be fun, "but would we fish the whole time, or do other stuff, too?"

Now my wife loves fishing, and sometimes she does better than I, call it the "woman's touch", but I could never expect her to spend 15 hours a day on the water casting the whole time. That said, I'm considering either a seperate or replacement trip with the boys, and that's where i need some advice.

The internet can only tell me so much - Suggestions on campsights/grounds along the shores of the NW Angle of LOTW are welcomed and appreciated if they exist.

Best place to camp on the angle would be Jake's.

I have never camped at either place but I have parked my boat at Young's bay during a stay there and was impressed. I think it is a little closer to where you would fish but either one would be a decent place i would think. Young's Bay is where I would probably go and camp when I go back up there.

My wife and I spent a month and a half up there three years ago as our honeymoon. While there really isn't a whole lot of "other stuff to do", just being up there is often enough. I'd say make sure she brings a book along, and have her cast when she wants, and relax and read while you cast when she doesn't. It also helps if you take some time and catch some walleyes to keep her interested. They're never that hard to find or catch. I wouldn't suggest pushing the 15 hour casting days on her, so take what you can get without her getting burned out, cause even if you only get 8 hours a day on the water, it is better than spending that time in a hotel somewhere. There are lots of shorelunch spots around the lake, and if you pack some food and stop and build a fire to cook, and enjoy breaks like that she will likely think it is great.

Don't get me wrong, if you take her up there and it pours down rain for three days straight she will probably not want to ever go back, but that doesn't happen very often.

If your wife wants to do other stuff amybe you should check out the Nestor Falls area of LOTW. You are closer to civilization there.
