I was just wondering the best time to start on the flowage, I dad and a buddy of mine are gonna hit it this spring, any suggestions?

Usually walleye guys are what you will find at the lodges earlier in the year. There is a good walleye bite in May. I did better with muskies a little later after they move into their summer haunts. The lake changes a bit when the mayflies hatch. Usually late may into June depending on the weather. Musky season doesn't open until May 22 or something like that.

No reason why you couldn't fish it for the musky opener. Look for spawning bays, warm water bays on the east side of the flowage and throw small bucktails like a mepps # 5 or small twitch baits until the water temp stabilizes.

Location: Cave Run Lake KY.
29th of May, Memorial Day week end. Start by hitting the East side, any old wood and shallow bay's. and as allways stay out after dark. 6" bucktails and small surface baits.
