| With the Pike here in CO and the Muskies in NM, I have acquired a new fly rod set up...I used good stuff last year, but cannot wait for the mail to arrive...I will be using a Sage Z axis 9'6" 8wt with an Abel Quick Change 7/8 reel(the reel is in bull trout colors so it looks unreal). I know quite a few use heavier rods, but an 8wt has worked well for me...Pretty soon the ice will melt and I will be wading the shallows for pike in the mountains here in CO...gonna kill some time this weekend chasing trout...Since the rod/reel shipped I felt the need to post...BR |

| Well it arrived and the photo doesn't do it justice, but the reel is beautiful, also the rod is super as well, but the reel is really a work of art...BR

Location: WI | I know someone with a similar reel in a pike pattern finish. It looks awesome. Good luck on the fly this season! I'm going to try it in the spring. |

You will enjoy that outfit. I had one similar a few years back. |

| Thanks! Steve between fly fishing and creature fishing I rarely pick up my traditional muskie stuff at this point...except to throw a weagle. I did pretty well last year fly fishing, mostly wading, so it is pretty exciting. I wanted to get a set up I could use for steelhead as well, so this should work. Going to take a few more trips to NM, the tiger fishing there is pretty amazing at this point...Ben |
