As much of a fan as I am of GPS maps, I still like my paper maps for pre-trip scouting. Anyone have an opinion as to what the best (most accurate/detailed) paper map of LOTW is?

Thanks!

The maps produced by the Canadian Hydrographic Service are the best hands down. Call Thorne Bros @ 763-572-3782, as they stock all of the LOTW maps.

Make that another vote for the Hydrographic maps - They are awesome - Get two of each though - once you start making them up, you'll want a clear one. I haven't learned my lesson yet - I have 4 or 5 of the Big Traverse section map. I just can't help but marking it up.

I have the same "problem" Jerry. Try to always keep one "clean" map (no bad folds/rips made while doing 40mph, no fish blood, no my blood on them) We also invested in the poster sized maps and had them laminated. Hang them on the cabin wall so we don't have 8 guys huddled around one map while discussing the events/locations of the day. (plus that way I don't have to show my buddies the spots I've marked on my "not so clean" map.

The hydrograpic maps are awsome. I had wy map laminated by a place in town you can mark it up and remove marks that way. It also takes the weather. My map is 6 years old and still looks like new.
