| Hi everyone,
I am moving to Wausau this summer from MN (Go Packers!) and I was wondering what lakes around the area I should try for muskies?
Thanks,

Location: Lake Tomahawk, WI | I would definitely get in touch with the Hooksetters guys. The money spent on a few days with their guides during the course of a season would pay huge dividends in your future success. Great guys, too.
LOTS of great muskie fishing around the Wausau area. Actually, great fishing for just about everything!

Location: Racine, Wi | Definitely book a day or two with the Hooksetter boys. They are dialed in on those river systems and will show you what you need to do to be on fish in those areas.
Just saw Phil a couple of months ago at our club and got a chance to yap with him for a while. Very nice guy and excellent fisherman. |

| If you would like to save a few bucks, pull down to the landing by the weyehauser dam, watch phill and clients toss dawgs at the tailrace, most days, most of the day, then try it yourself. Or, grab a good map, look for the creek inlets, and largest flats(most have some sort of weeds). Bucktails kick in early June, and stay hot all summer in the shallows and you cannot fish too shallow out there. Watch your locator, and remain vigilant of hazards and high water. Lake Wausau is good, and Dubay is very underfished. |
