So I picked up a esox magnum for next to nothing!!! I need to redo all the carpeting and put a new deck in it, I am looking for tips and suggestions on any way to make it better. I already am planning on adding a rear casting deck but the problem I see is where to put all the switches and ignition. I will keep adding pictures as the project goes on. when it's all said and done I am hoping to have less than $1200 into the whole thing. having problems uploading pics!!!

awesome find!...there are some great threads on here of esox ltd/ marauder overhauls that might be helpful...I redid a esox ltd last spring and added a rear casting platform...I was able to move the control panel far enough forward to where it was out of the way of the platform and didn't cover up the access hole for the livewell pumps...I am not sure if that would work on a magnum or not...I will try to post some pics of it when I get a chance...I can see from your pics that the flooring is rotted...how is the transom?...what about the front deck and sidetanks?...you should post pics of your progress...there are some very helpful/clever folks on here to trouble shoot any issues with...have fun

the front deck is fine and the bottom of the rod locker is all rotted out but I figured I would just glass a piece of wood and carpet it and slide it in there, no need to pull the whole cap off just to replace the rod locker bottom. the stringers are fine and the side decks seem to be alright also, I haven't gotten into the transom yet but when I move the motor up and down it doesn't move so I am hopeful on that one, I thought about just putting the control panel on the front of the rear casting deck but I don't want it to get kicked.

When I started my demo I did not expect to remove the side bunks but the deeper I got, the more rot I found. What year is your Mag? If you find rot in the transom I would consider rebuilding the side bunks also as this will allow for a stronger transom. I built my rear casting deck assuming I was keeping the switches on the inside, but I don't require frequent access to the switches. Here's some pics, let me know if you have ?s
