Posts: 38 | I own a triton 202 DC, 2007. It gets horrible gas milage and its just to big of a boat for me. I am now looking to get into a ranger 618T for next season. Does anyone know what price range these boats run new? Or does anyone know what i could possibly get for my boat after the season? Thanks, any help would be appreciated. Joe

![]() Posts: 412 Location: Waukesha, WI | one of the Spring sales brochures from a dealer in my area had the 618T listed around 30K (including freight and prep) depending on options. For current value of your Triton, try this link. http://www.nadaguides.com/SectionHome.aspx?LI=1-28-0-5000-502-578-5...

Posts: 2384 Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | Joe, I was thinking of going to the 202t. What motor are you running and what's the gas mileage been? How does it fish? As far as the Ranger, you'll probably spend about the same on the 18' ranger as you did for the 20' Triton from what I've seen.

Posts: 5874 | The 618T's I've seen new, are around $34K. That 202 must have been a mid to upper 40's boat, depending on how it is rigged. Big change going from a deep V console to a shallow tiller. Maybe look into other makes, or even the 177 Triton. That boat fishes bigger than it's size. I got my 50 last year out of one. With the 150, it sips fuel. Same with the 1760 Tuffy. Maybe even look into the Ranger 1860 Angler? Lot's of options out there.

Posts: 385 | JUst got to look around. I bought my 618T new for 24,800. I've had it in solid 3 footers and it was absolutely a dream in rough water. Fishes like a much larger boat. All around very satisfied with it.

Posts: 38 | The motor i have on my boat is a optimax 200, it burns the gas coming from a yamaha 115 4-stroke.. Anyways, is it tough to come across a used 618T? What about the 620T? what are the price range for a new one of those? Matt, where did you get such a good deal? Thanks, Joe

Posts: 385 | Wait 'til the Fall and start looking on-line at dealerships with this years inventory. They will deal to get rid of the old to make room for the new stuff. I got mine from South Dakota. Good luck!! Any other questions about the boat email me at [email protected]

I don't think the 618T is considered a 'shallow tiller', unless you'd call the 620T a shallow tiller as well. It is the same boat as the 620T, with 2' taken out of the mid-section. Don't mistake the tiller model for the 618 console, which is much shallower. I run a 690T with a yamaha 90 4 stroke. It is the earlier version of the 618T, though slightly deeper. The fuel mileage is really good, though I am comparing it to the basic 2 stroke Merc. that was on the back when I bought it, which was a poor performer fuel-wise on that rig. The 4 stroke will give you about 37mph top-end, with a decent hole shot once propped correctly.

I really looked hard at a new 618T. It is a very nice boat...fit and finish is second to none. Also, wonderful storage. I must admit that I do have a soft spot for nice tiller boats and the 618T and 620T are great boats. Yet, I decided on a Tuffy X-190. Why? The rear casting deck set-up is really nice and 90% of my fishing is for Muskies. I run the boat from the back and just couldn't see fishing off the storage decks at night in rough weather. Also, decided that I still wanted more than a 90 hp for moving across the water. The 620T can have way more than a 90hp but also is WAY more expensive than the 618T. The X-190 is a fantastic Muskie boat for the lakes I fish. Truth? Buy what fits your needs. If you don't feel you need a nice rear casting deck, you will still love the 618T. Good luck and enjoy. Picking out a new boat is a great problem to have:) Badgerpat1

Location: MN | Joe, There are some good looking Ranger 620Ts on the Minneapolis Craigslist... and if you are the Joe I think you are, that shouldn't too much of a drive. Also, I've been watching the walleyesinc website; currently there is a sweet 620T for sale in my personal favorite colors. http://www.walleyesinc.com/walleyeinc3/rangerboat474.htm If I could buy anything right now, I'd buy this: http://www.walleyesinc.com/walleyeinc3/rangerboat403.htm This would be closer to what you are used to.
