Ok guys What kind of wood do you guys use for making blanks outof im really starting to gets into this lure making by reading everything i can bout makeing lures i have all the wood tools its just trying to figure out what wood and how to make and airbrush any help will be greatful

Depends alot on what type of bait your making, (topwaters) i like white pine , cedar or basswood. ( pull and rise jerkbaits ) white pine and cedar. ( gliders ) maple, oak ,cedar , butternut the heavier hardwoods seem to work better , do not have to add as much weight, but the softwoods give different actions than the hardwoods. (crankbaits ) maple, poplar and cedar. don't be afraid to experiment , everyone has their favorites, trial and error are your best teachers.
