Man, this is a perfect example of how impersonal this board has become.

Can you get to St. Louis? I have a few buds left there, though I've been gone many years. Is Cape G closer? I have one good bud there that will hang out with you.

I wish others on this site would friggin stand up and support folks like you; people in basic about to be sent overseas, maybe. This site used to be much more kind. I think the swirl began when Sponge left. People like Pointer try to maintain the light and kind side, but for whatever reason, we don't reach out to help others like we used to. Everything evolves, and I wish Steve well in all endeavors, but its clear that things have changed on M1.

I was first drawn to this site because the members were collecting money to help some poor mom travel and stay near her kid while in the hospital. Grabbed my soul and I was totally into helping. Totally wired to support M1. When the hell did we do anything like that latley? Guess folks are too busy, as they were when I tried to wish Lambeau goodbye. Not a single response from ANYONE, Andrew, Steve or Lambeau.

I think I been around toooo long. Should have left with some elegance last year. Scored a Beaver in 09, took the walk in 10.

Later.

Hey,
you might want to check out the Muskies Inc. site for your area.... Pomme DeTere Lake isn't very far from you, and I'm sure someone would take you out Muskie fishing if you ask and explain your situation.
Go to Muskies Inc. and hit the Chapter link for that area and get some names and numbers from those guys.
The lake looks a bit like Western Pa .in many ways, very pretty and hilly.
good luck, and God Bless.

I'm new this Fall to M1 so I'm not exactly sure what has went on, but the people I've met so far have been kind and exceptional with help. BEF wish I would have known about your situation a bit earlier. Sadly now I'm working the weekend, but would have made an effort to get you on the water. I live in Perryville, MO which is north of Cape G. which you have no idea of. Anyway, if you happen to get any more time off between now and what may come send me a PM or email and perhaps I could work something out with you. Weekends aren't the best for me...weekdays a whole lot better, but I'd make an effort since you're preparing to make a big effort for us. Hope the weekend isn't a total wash for you. God Bless!

baldeaglefisherman,

Thanks for your service, if I was in your area you would be welcome at anytime. I have a son stationed at Fort Carson Co. and he is also at his base for the next few weeks before he deploys to Iraq in March. Best of luck to you!

Well Ogden is only 1318 miles away. Too bad they couldn't hook you up with an air force pilot and fly you to Hill AFB, I imagine the F-16 ride is about a 15 minutes haha.

500 miles is pretty far and im a fun guy to hangout with. Just ask me ill tell ya. I know i seem pretty desperate but i really would rather not be the only person left on this base. And i dont want to pay the 600$ for a ticket home and back.
