Never been big on that stuff, but this year I decided to try it. First one was to start being nice to people, which my girlfriend says won't last a week. Second one was to lose weight. Getting close to 220, that ain't good! Fishing related resolutions? This year I'm out there to enjoy myself. I'll catch fish, or not... but as the years go by what I remember is more about where I was and who I was fishing with than the actual fish.

So what are yours?

My only resolution is to live long enough to see my 1 year old grand son grow up.

I'll do what I gotta do to make that happen.

To learn to navigate the boat better while fishing out of the starboard side of the boat...it just feels backwards to me currently, and I know that if I put some time in on it, I will be able to better fish spots in certain wind conditions.

More time on the water with Sue and friends, more time with the grandkids. Lose some of the 'work obsession', maybe even alot of it.

I think I'm going to try to take a page out of Sled's book and do a bit more multi-species fishing this year. I think it does a couple things for you 1) it puts you in more of an 'ecosystem' frame of mind that only helps you on all species, and 2) the catch rate for other species has more of a chance of keeping my wife and kids engaged. Besides, I like the taste of fresh fish now and then.
And Jeff, 220 seems like an admirable goal...perhaps I'll join ya.

I had a great fishing season this past year with many many great memories. Pondering however if I sacrificed too much at my job/career. I think I'll try spending a few more hours at work and try balancing family/career/musky fishing a little better. Easier said than done.

Roll with the punches! No tantrums for any reason from anyone while fishing.
Always check the line and re-tie after each fish.
Give first shot at the spot on the spot to any guest in my boat.
SLOW DOWN.
Pick the best lake possible even if it's a further drive.
Stay out as long as possible without upsetting anyone.
Get better pictures when we do get a fish in the net.
Place a tarp on the deck if I measure out of the water. No more unprotected muskies on the carpet.
GET A BUMP BOARD!
Keep it simple.
Above all... Just have fun fishing.
