Location: Stones throw away...finally!! | I am planning a switch next spring to a full synthetic Amsoil 2 Stroke oil for my Yamaha 225 and was wondering if there was anything that I needed to do besides get all of the Yamalube out of the resevoir? (As much as I can anyhow). Anybody that has made this change, did you see any diff's than when running standard 2 stroke oil? Thanks for any help. |

Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | Amsoil works just as good as Yamalube in my 200 V Max............... Don't use any thing else but these two oils, or you WILL foul plugs and run Shnitty.

| Definitely make the switch!! I found that the Amsoil runs cleaner with less smoke than even the yamalube. It's a great product and not too far off the price of the OEM brand name oil.

| I was given a fully unopened gallon of mercury 2 stroke oil and wondered if I used that in my 250 HPDI would it be a problem. I have only used Yamalube in the past and will continue to do so but wondered about the repercussions of using this Merc oil or not... |

| why? 2 stroke is 2 stroke. we have used all sorts of 2 stroke oils in our snowmobiles from other brands and they all work just fine.
imo it won't matter. use it up! |
