Location: Madison, WI | Looks like I screwed up one of my new gliders, it isn't sitting correctly in the water. It is painted and cleared, I taped extra weigt in front of the front hook and it fixed the problem. Do I just drill out the bait, add the additional weight, fill with puddy, sand, seal, re-paint and seal?
Any suggestions would be appreciated....Newbe mistakes...ugh! it's the journey that fun, learning a lot.
Thanks,
MS

Not sure how much lead you need but have you thought about Suspend-Dots (sp)? THey are adhesive lead strips that you can use to add weight to a bait. I have used them on topwater baits to change the action in the past.

| Do you have room for a bigger front hook?
Sometimes the added weight of a bigger hook can make the difference if you have the room. If you need alot of weight, try wrapping solder on the hook shank. Don't drill into the lure unless you absolutely have to.

| Depends how much weight is needed, can you get away with adding an extra split ring to the nose or front hook or both?
If not its a re drilling job |

Location: Madison, WI | I hope this helps. It's poplar and I'm concerned that it will need a lot of extra weight; here is 1 oz extra, i may add another 1/2 to the tail.
