Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Got my new "Mega" rods read to go as will as my Mag and Casting rods. Two sizes and three powers. Plus all rods come with a standard handle and an extension to make the rod handles 18" long. Took a while and broke a lot of rods but we finally got the handles right and they are tough. Key was making the aluminum screw attachment long and also incorporating the rod blanks inside of them so they become one unit. I can stand on the handles now. And for you warranty lovers, I put a 5 year warranty on these vs the 2 year I was going to go with. Figured if you can't break it in 5 years your not going to. Also have a $5 flat rate shipping on them for USA orders. New double #10s and double #13s too. Lightened up the blades from 040 to 032 because you had to "kick start" the ones with the 040. Good points with the 032 blades are you don't have to kick start them anymore and they won't warp like the 024s will. Although I have yet to warp an 024 blade but I have seen plenty of them warped from a few of my buddies tackleboxes.... Also had a slight problem with some of the red and perch blades chipping and got those fixed now too with new etching primer on the base of all of the painted blades. Good stuff. More will be out soon. Hope to get better pictures of the bucktails but I only had about 2 hours to work on them this weekend. They look much better in person. Rods: http://www.tackleindustries.com/muskypikerods.html #10s: http://www.tackleindustries.com/bassspinnerbait.html #13s: http://www.tackleindustries.com/northernpikelure.html Thanks for those of you who gave me comments along the way for what you wanted to see in the rods and lures. Most of my specifications for all of my rods and lures comes from a lot of the forum users here on M1. I appreciate all of the "constructive" good and bad comments you send. Well, let the drive by "guest" shooting begin James Attachments ---------------- r1.png (112KB - 168 downloads) r2.JPG (41KB - 161 downloads) r3.png (181KB - 224 downloads)

Posts: 402 Location: Eagle River, WI | Cool. That's a good idea with the removable handle. Do you think that you could incorporate a weight system in the removable handle so you could balance your rods for different lure weights?

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | mag heavy 8'6"/9'---From a 1-10(super stiff) its a 7.5 Love the idea for the weight system. Just make need to make the screw attachment a little longer so you could fit heavy washers onto it when you screw it in. Only problem might be for guys who like light rods. I know after a good day in Canada my arms are about done...

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Forgot to add, these rods all have the fat cork handles on them and the 8" is about 7' with the handle off and the 9" is 8" with the handle off for storage. The 9" will just fit into the bed of a full sized pickup truck with the handle off corner to corner.

Posts: 83 | James, do you plan to have a booth at the MN Musky Expo. All tapped out this year, but would love to get a closer look next season. Great job on the new product - always nice to see new innovations.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Not sure if I will get into the MN Expo in 2010 or not. I would love to go but with a full time job and little vacation its hard to do. Those darn kids keep wanting my time. If nothing else I may send some rods to the show so people can take a look at them. Just need a guide booth to hold a few for me to show off. As for retailers, none yet but I just started these 5 days ago. My website is up and running for them and my S/H for USA customers is only $5 (any length) and for Canada for a flat $20 (only the 8' rods though). Still working on a good way to ship the 9' rods to Canada due to the length. Just goes outside the USPS limits. I may shorten the rod by 1.5" so it just falls into the shipping regs for the USPS. Other shippers are expensive but I am still checking into it. Edited by Tackle Industries 10/7/2009 10:52 PM

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Probably won't be at the Chicago show but if I can get some of the rods in a booth for people to look at I will. Here is a picture I just got from one of the guys who tests my rods/lures for me. I am sure the fish is nicer too look at but my rod is behind him. Now I just wish he was using a SuperD when he caught it Attachments ---------------- jeff.jpg (26KB - 158 downloads)

Posts: 101 | Got my rods 8.6/9 XH and XXH. Used them yesterday and they are great. You're right the extra length does make it easier and less wear and tear on the body casting. The handle are great for the extra length and also for storage in the rod locker. Thanks for the great deal.
