| Forgive me if this is a dumb question (I'm just starting to look at head/hat cams), but can you upload videos to a computer or hook this thing up to a tv and watch the videos or can you only watch them on the Archos 404? I have to believe you'd be able to just that, but I had to ask the question. If you can get them on a computer, can you send me an example of the video this thing takes? I'm familiar with the video quality from one of the hat cameras off of hatcam.com and want to compare quality. I'll pm you my email address if you have a sample to send me. Let me know.

Location: Delavan, WI | this is camera only you need the archos 404 media player to be able to watch or record videos- i do not think you can hook this up to anything else ie computer or tv however i think you can hook up the media player once data is recorded to it to a computer or a tv with the right cables-thanks martin |

| Maybe Mr. Worral can give some input here. I'm looking to get a hat or head camera off of which a person can upload the videos to a computer and watch them on their TV. I am looking for a camera that allows for a person to video for 4-8 hours without changing the battery or SD card every couple hours. I see the Archos 404 has a 30GB hard drive that has room for 130 hours of video. One of my questions is do you hook this thing up to the Archos 404 while on the lake/in the woods or does the camera have it's own memory storage and you later upload the videos to the Archos 404? If this camera has it's own memory storage, how long can you tape for before you run out? If you hook the Archos 404 up to it and can video for 130 hours (theoretically), how long do the batteries typically last?
Steve, do you have any examples of video you could send me?

Location: Delavan, WI | Like I said its a camera only-it does not use a battery - it does not have any storage-its basically the "eye" it only sees what you will be recording - it does not record- the media player has all the recording capabilities hope this clears things up. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I shot quite a few with the 404, it's a good unit. The Archos is a digital video recorder, and the camera simply plugs in as an accessory. I'd guess you will get 4 to 5 hours out of a charge. it's easy to transfer the recordings to a computer or play them on a TV. The 404 is recognized as an external hard drive when you plug it into a usb port. |
