| Looking for some tips. I plan to make some topwater lures this winter after freeze up. Looking for preferred suppliers of tails, techniques of bending into cup shape, preferences on brass versus stainless, etc. Thanks |

| Hey,
I just started making my own tallywacker and topraider type baits too. I'm actually in the process of finishing right now. I know that mooreslures.com, staminainc.com and Rollie and Helens have the tails, but stamina is closed right now, so I'm going to order some from Rollie and Helen's. My original prototype i made the tail out of the bottom of a soda can, cut it into about a 1.5" long "U" shape, and cut a slot in the tail of the bait. I then epoxied the tail in, parallel with the bait, and bent the curved end so it was perpendicular to the tail. Works great. If you would like, I will try to upload some pictures. Good Luck!

| Got my tails yesterday. Thinking about how to round or cup the prop, I assume you take a ball pean hammer and tap the shape out over a metal bar or pipe? |

| Figured it out. Using my vice, I can clamp and bend it into a curved tail. A little nervous that the SS tails are pretty thin and will be subject to frequent tuning. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on the thicker brass tails but haven't found where to buy. |

Sorry I was on vacation for the weekend. And I used a homemade tail made out of aluminum, so i was able to bend it by hand, but i like your idea better for the thicker stuff. I will try to post a picture up tomorrow of my finished bait, let me know how it goes for you. |

Just get some brass sheet the thickness you want, trace your pattern and cut it out by hand. Brass cuts pretty easy compared to stainless. |

| Yake bait, How many do you need? I make my own tails for surface baits they are a little thicker then the ones from rollies. I cut them out and cup them with a press. Pm me your address and i can send you a couple. Any more questions just ask. Matt
