| Going up by Ladysmith but no one can get any over 12 inches. Something about the DNR and VHS disease control. Coming from rockford area. Edited by 4amuskie 10/13/2009 9:46 AM | |||

Location: SE Wisconsin | I buy my suckers from Smokey's, but Dick Smiths has them up to 20 inches. . . They did last weekend anyways - usually have a few that big.

Posts: 285 Location: Price County WI | We had about 40 in Phillips last week that were over 18", Most of the suckers that we have been getting in the store are under 12 or over 18.

Posts: 371 Location: Dixon, IL | 20" .... wow! How much cost each? My question is do you bring your own water to bait shop? Or they pour lot of water into your 5 gallon cooler tank? I plan to buy some around 12" suckers for myself in Illinois in late Fall on shore! I remember I saw some big suckers in Eagle River area! Good luck and hope that you able to find some 20" plus suckers!

Posts: 576 Location: Elk Grove Village, IL & Phillips, WI | I was about to say that Ross's in Phillips had some big ones last weekend, but John has already replied. One of the 14 inch ones I bought there paid off with a 38 incher on Saturday.

Location: Contrarian Island | 15" suckers will work most of the time just as well as a 20" and your hookups are going to be better imo with a quickstrike... Edited by BNelson 10/13/2009 12:03 PM

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | MuskyStalker - 10/13/2009 1:00 PM go to any small stream culvert with running water and catch your own! I thought the VHS restrictions in Wisconsin made that illegal. I know it's not legal here in Michigan and I thought WI adopted the same fish/bait transport rules. Another one that most people probably don't follow here in Michigan is that you can't save your bait after a day of fishing and take it to another lake if you have mixed water from the lake/river you are fishing.

Posts: 929 Location: Rhinelander. | I agrees with the statement on smaller suckers. 15 inchers are as good as 20. In fact the last few years I've seldom used any over 15 and my average size ski is still the same.. Yes there are some big suckers available in Eagle River area. Pfeiff
